I dreamt

RĂªve

Two bodies on the bed
Clothed, content
His arm around her waist
Their fingers interlaced
His head resting
On the crook of her neck
She could feel his breath
Tickling her cheek

She turned
Careful not to disengage
From his embrace
She held his free hand
Looked at his still face
One could only hear
The constant beating
Of the other's heart
One could only feel
The warmth
Of the other's skin

He turned
Reluctant to let go
But it choked him
To see the flash of pain in he eyes
She stroked his long hair
Buried her hair
In the black mass
That smelled like...
Chocolate, for some reason
And felt like coarse yarn
She squeezed his hair
Playfully
That was enough for him

She got up and got out
He followed her with his gaze
He lay on his back and sighed
She returned
He feigned sleep
She tiptoed to the bed
And crept beside him
He opened one eye
Then the other
They faced each other again
But one knew well the planes
Of the other's face
By sight, by touch, by heart

"What are you doing tomorrow?" he asked
"Nothing much," said she
"Let's go for a drink."
"Sorry, I'm allergic."
But that was fine with him
He didn't press
He understood
This was enough
No need for kisses
Just two bodies
Clothed, content
They knew each other
By sight, by touch, by heart.

Forlorn Though the Tomb Appears

Whispers from the grave
One message hidden in dreams
Hope eats through the dark
The Dead still have much to say
But their mouths forever closed

Yan muna for now. Time...
